No. Wills are not filed with the Register of Wills until the maker has died. Your executor will need the original will signed by you to probate your estate, and so it is essential that the executor have it at that time. If you search your safe deposit box or the place where you keep important documents and cannot find it, you might want to call your lawyer to be sure it is not in your lawyer’s file. If it is not in your lawyer’s file, you should consider having a new one prepared.
