Litigation is the process of filing or defending a lawsuit in a court of law where a party alleges a loss or harm as a result of another’s actions and seeks a legal or equitable remedy and judgment from the Court. Grim, Biehn & Thatcher represents businesses and individuals throughout Pennsylvania with a focus on southeastern PA and the Lehigh Valley. Our goal is to educate and inform clients at each step throughout the process while diligently and vigorously advocating the facts and law most favorable to the client’s interest at all times.
Civil Litigation – Plaintiff
These cases can involve a broad array of matters including business transactions, contract disputes, employment, real estate disputes, foreclosures and consumer rights. The firm is an advocate for the legal rights of the client. Ultimately the final goal is a judgment from the court which may include monetary compensation or a specific equitable remedy by the court.
Civil Litigation – Defense
The firm represents individuals and businesses in Civil Litigation – Defense matters by aggressively defending contract disputes, bad faith claims, negligence claims, vehicular accidents (including uninsured motorists [UM] and underinsured motorists [UIM]), product liability, property and insurance coverage claims. In conjunction with our municipal division, our firm represents municipalities, schools and public utilities in defense of various types of legal disputes.
Commercial Debt Collection
The firm assists businesses in the collection of business debts, secured and unsecured loans, and account receivables. Services include all action from filing a complaint to obtaining a judgment. The firm further assists in the location of assets and the attachment and sale of those assets to satisfy outstanding business debts. Customarily the firm’s work in this area involves the representation of creditors, including banks, businesses and materials suppliers.
